The Modern Fort Worth Wedding – Emily + Mark

What a sweet wedding ceremony at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in downtown Fort Worth. Mark was just adorable watching Emily walk down the aisle!! That smile is the look of a man ready to marry the love of his life!!

Emily and Mark celebrated their marriage at The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Their florals had an elegant pop of color and really  made a statement in the museum’s lobby.  Creme de la Creme Cake Company created two of the most spectacular cakes. I love the Firetruck grooms cake! As soon as they arrived at the venue, we took advantage of the  opportunity to get some unique romantics of Emily and Mark inside the permanent collection at the Modern. Have you seen this awesome shot of them in the Kind of Blue exhibit by Jenny Holzer? Wowza!

Emily and Mark had an elegant and epic entrance into their reception on the museum’s glass walkway above their friends and family and shared in a thank-you speech with Emily’s father. The evening then kicked off with mouth watering catering by the fabulous Modern cafe staff and a live band started the party. The band was pretty epic and had a real knack for getting everyone, including grandma, on the dance floor to boogie. Emily had the fantastic idea of having a mardi gras mask party and everyone enjoyed the fun, including dad! Emily and Mark left their party in a fun and classic way…bubbles! It was a sweet night full of family fun and colorful celebration had by all! Congrats you two!!

Dallas Proposal of Ally + Mike is THE BIGGEST SECRET I have EVER had to keep, hands down! My associate photographer Ally, with The Purple Pebble Photography has been in a long distance relationship with her boyfriend Mike for 3 years now. She knew there would be a proposal soon…but she had no idea how soon and that her Boss was in on the plan! Mike contacted me with his ideas and together we came up with the perfect plan to surprise Ally…NEW HEADSHOTS! (explains the super posey Ally, right??) I told the girls that we all needed new headshots and that I really wanted to do them at Winspear Opera House.  Megan, my other associate photographer was in on the jig as well and upped the anty by telling everyone we should dress up..wink wink! Let me tell you, that was the longest month of my life!

We all met up at the Winspear and decided we would all photograph each other, and Ally should go first. As she was striking her best pose; we could see Mike walking around the corner and started snapping away. Megan and I were so nervous we could hardly stop shaking the whole time! Needless to say, Ally was taken completely by surprise and we caught it all. Mike got down on one knee and everything. It was perfect. I took them around to take a few celebratory pictures and let them go off and enjoy their new engagement.

Ally was in for another surprise because Mike had also arranged for her closest family and friends to get together at Lark on the Park. Megan and I snuck over there to be a part of the surprise and helped them celebrate! It was a fabulous gathering and I am so glad that Mike let me be such a big part of their engagement. I’ll let you enjoy the fabulousness now. 😉

This Green + Gold Baylor University Inspired Wedding with Whitney + Luke was truly a fun and relaxed affair. Whitney and Luke both got ready for their big day at The Worthington Renaissance Hotel in the heart of Downtown Fort Worth. Whitney was the pitcher for the Baylor University Bears Softball team and had her best softball teammates with her as we got her into her dress. Likewise, Luke had his best group of guys and they were quite a handful. Lots of fun was had by all parties involved. We made our way over to TCU’s Robert Carr Chapel where the ceremony would take place. Whitney and Luke chose not to do a first look but they did want to have a little sneak peek photo opportunity so we had some fun with the chapel doors…but no real peeks!!! Their ceremony was a really emotional affair. Each of Luke’s groomsmen gave him one last kiss on the cheek as  a single man and Whitney was the vision of beauty as she was escorted down the aisle. Their ceremony was full of sweet moments and laughter.

We headed over to The Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth Hotel  where Whitney and Luke’s reception was taking place in the Grand Ballroom. Justine with Justine’s Flowers  created Whitney’s over the top GORGEOUS florals at the reception, as well as all of the wedding day florals in the Chapel. The music and lighting was provided Randal Stout Entertainment that kept the mood upbeat and guests on the dance floor. Whitney and Luke had a private viewing of the reception space before any of the guests entered and saw Whitney’s out of this world cake by Creme De La Creme Cake Company. Their family was a fantastic group of people who celebrated this day with vigor, to say the least. It was a party, fo sho! There was even a skit that included almost all of the wedding party in “tips for a successful and happy marriage” which had us all laughing! There was dancing, and laughter, as well as a photo booth full of fun little props. Whitney and Luke wrapped up their evening with a private last dance and then went out with a bang as all of their friends and family lined up for their sparkler exit. This was definitely a wedding to for the books. One of my favorite weddings of 2014!!!!! Congratulations Whitney and Luke, xoxo!

Maggie and Brandon have a special place in my heart. I was the photographer for Maggie’s older sister Marty’s wedding years ago and her mother is quite possibly my favorite! So, when Maggie was thinking of a photographer, she chose me. I couldn’t have asked for a high honor and I truly loved being a part of their special day. We had already spent time together during Maggie’s bridal session, which we did on her mother’s property so I was ready when it came to wedding day. Maggie and Brandon chose to exchange vows in a place close to their heart, on her mother’s property where Maggie grew up. This place is also special because their family built an outdoor chapel on the grounds.

We started out day in Maggie’s childhood home, it was bustling with bridesmaids and house party, as well as aunts and sisters. It was a full house for sure! Maggie’s mother and sister helped her into her gown and because Maggie loves a good surprise, she chose to do a first look with all of her bridemaids and bridesmen. (yes, I said bridesmen. Its still manly, right?) This was adorable and full of happy tears! Then, she did a first look with her dad. Oh My Goodness, I can’t take how utterly adorable this first look is. Maggie’s dad was just overcome with joy and love for his little girl when he saw her for the first time. I just about died, it was so beautiful. We then went around the house and took some really adorable shots of Maggie’s father pushing her on the swing that they built together when she was a child. Maggie and Brandon saw each other for the first time during their first look at the outdoor chapel. This moment was pretty special and sweet. They go together quite nicely! Maggie entered her ceremony on a horse drawn carriage and was escorted by her father down the aisle. Their ceremony was a lovely summer occasion complete with wine and ice lemonade for guests and a sweet little flower girl in her tulle dress. They exchanged vows under the stone chapel surrounded by their closest family and friends.

The party kicked off under a large white tent on the property. The details were adorable vintage china and summer florals and large orange and pink lanterns decorated the top of the tent. Everyone kicked off the party and it didn’t end until late into the night. There was a quick visit from the famous TCU Horned Frog, since Maggie and Brandon are both TCU alum. Maggie and Brandon left their party in true fashion with a fabulous display of sparklers. Congratulations to Maggie and Brandon…Love you guys!!!
